Who is Alfredo Lagos

Alfredo Lagos, Jerez de la Frontera, 1971.

He began his journey as a guitarist playing for dance and, from a very young age, was sought after by the biggest names. His first tour in Japan, at 18, was accompanying the dance of Sara Baras and Joaquín Grilo. Then came Manolete, Javier Barón, Carmen Cortés, and Manuela Carrasco, for whom he composed—together with Joaquín Amador—the music for her work La raíz del grito, which premiered in 1996 at the 9th Seville Flamenco Biennial.

He is a regular guitarist for José Mercé, Estrella Morente, and, in dance, Israel Galván, among many others.

A Journey Through Flamenco Guitar

He has received several specialist critics’ awards, including “Breakthrough Guitarist” and “Best Guitarist” for the years 2003–2007 from Flamenco Hoy magazine. And more recently, the prestigious “Giraldillo” from the Seville Biennial in 2020, and the Copa de Jerez for Guitar in 2023.
